Types of Membership
Regular Member: Individual requesting this membership status must be 18 years of age the date of application completes a firefighter physical, background check, and six (6) month probationary period. This membership status, after completion of the required probationary period, may vote at monthly meetings, and enjoy other benefits. Regular membership is considered an interior firefighter position after achieving certification of Pro Board Fire Fighter level1.
Associate Regular: Individuals requesting this membership status must be 18 years of age the date of application, complete the same requirements of a Regular Member with the exception of certification of Pro Board Fire Fighter level 1. This membership status is limited to Drive/Operator positions.
Associate Support: Individuals requesting this membership status must be 18 years of age the date of application do not require completion of a firefighter physical. This membership status is limited to nonemergency administration assistance. Examples include but not limited to secretary, accountant, event coordinator, etc.
Membership Application
Department policy requires a background check on all individuals applying for membership to the Palmer Municipal Fire Department. This includes a formal review of the applicant’s Criminal History Record with the Pennsylvania State Police and Department of Public Welfare. The required investigation fee will be paid by the department after a positive report is submitted to the Fire Commissioner. By electronically signing on the Membership Application the applicant authorizes the department to complete this investigation.
Please note that in order to complete this application a valid drives license is required.
