As our students head back to school, it’s time for all drivers to be extra vigilant on the roads. School buses will be making their rounds, and it’s our shared responsibility to ensure that every child gets to and from school safely.
Remember:
1. STOP When the Bus Stops: It’s the law! When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop sign extended, all drivers must come to a complete stop, whether you’re behind the bus or approaching from the opposite direction. 2. Slow Down in School Zones: Reduce your speed in school zones and be prepared to stop at any time. Kids can be unpredictable! 3. Stay Alert: Avoid distractions like texting or eating while driving, especially near schools and bus stops. A split-second of inattention can have serious consequences. 4. Watch for Children: Keep an eye out for children walking or biking to and from the bus stop. They may not always look before crossing the street.
Let’s work together to make this school year a safe one for all of our students. Drive safely and be bus aware! 🚌📚📓🏫 |
