This is cause from the dry weather, lack of precipitation, dry vegetation, and low humidity. It is strongly discouraged for residents to conduct outdoor burning.
As a reminder, portable outdoor fire places are permitted in Palmer Township. However, portable outdoor fireplaces shall not be operated within 15 feet of a structure or combustible material.
Palmer Township annual Trick-or-Treat is this coming Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 6PM to 8PM. Current weather forecast for Trick-or-Treat is looking pleasant with temperature at 62 degrees, low wind, and high humidity. Many of our residents enjoy this annual event. We at the Fire Department look forward to this event. We ask that you use sound judgement when using an outdoor fireplace – remove all dry vegetation and fallen leaves 15 feet from the fireplace location, use the spark arrestor that comes with the fireplace, and keep the flame height under 3 feet.
While you are out trick-or-treating with your children, we recommend wearing light colored clothing or safety vest, and carry a flashlight. We also recommend glow sticks or glow necklaces on children in costumes.
Be on the lookout for the fire trucks. Our firefighters will be travelling the streets handing out candy. Enjoy the event and stay safe. |
