| For the past five days, Lt. Vangeli trained in Matamoras, Pennsylvania alongside some of the best fire and law enforcement professionals from across the state under instructors from the Texas State University ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) Center.
Upon successful completion of the course, Lt. Vangeli is now certified to teach the Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR) program, providing Palmer Municipal Fire Department with the ability to deliver nationally recognized, evidence-based active attack response training to our members and partner agencies.
This training builds on the department’s recent ALICE certification and is another important step toward developing a coordinated active assailant response capability for both PMFD and our region. Just as importantly, it strengthens the working relationships between fire, EMS and law enforcement, ensuring a unified, coordinated response during high-risk incidents where every second matters.
We are incredibly proud of Lt. Vangeli for his dedication to professional development and his commitment to bringing this knowledge back to our department and community. His leadership helps ensure that PMFD continues to train, prepare, and evolve to meet today’s public safety challenges.
